Our experiences inspired us
Steve Lau and Rameez Ansari built AutoLeap to provide software to hard working entrepreneurs who have been overlooked by the technological revolution. Improving the lives of small business owners really hits deep for them – they see it as a personal mission.
“In the early days, my parents’ electrical contracting business was underserved by technology. I clearly remember the days when all accounting had to be done manually because the homegrown accounting software had failed. My father would often have to work long hours and weekends to keep the business running smoothly.”
It was clear to Rameez that modern software could help change the face of his family business and more broadly, it could present an avenue for small businesses everywhere to get ahead.
During their days of providing software to HVAC contractors, Steve and Rameez saw firsthand the impact that modern and easy-to-use software can have on small businesses. Every day, customers would tell them about the significant time savings, efficiencies, and revenue growth they were able to realize using their software.
A few years later, reflecting on their journey within the HVAC market, Steve was talking to Francisco, one of his best friends who is an auto repair shop owner and mechanic.
“Francisco told me about all the problems that he was struggling with at his shop – long hours, changing technology, business management, and most of all, customer mistrust. We had heard this same story during our HVAC days and a lightbulb went off for us. We knew that Francisco was one of the most honest people out there, we just needed a way to help him build trust with his customers.”
Right then and there, Steve and Rameez set out on a mission to give Francisco and all auto repair shop owners access to the most modern, cutting edge, and sleek software in the market to help them build trust, save time, and turbocharge their growth.
